Market Research, data collecting

What is Market Analysis?

We would like to put this in very simple terms, as there are two types of people visiting our site: the first type works for a Hungarian or international research company, or the research team of a company. The other type visits us because he/she is interested in our work.

So allow us not to go into technical details and try to explain what the first group is doing day-by-day. Instead, we will use plain terms to describe what we mean by Market Analysis.

Market Analysis is an organized and planned systematic research of a given market, where we gather information about the market, its participants and processes.

For the most simple approach, it has 4 stages:

  1. Establish the object of study, planning
  2. Analysis and correction of research plan
  3. Acquiring data
  4. Report, conclusion, recommendations, forecast

What does Paradise Solution offer?

Data collection is a classic Call Center operation. This is an integral part of Market Analysis and unquestionably one of the most delicate parts. If data collection is not accurate, the results will not be able to be processed and compared.

If some of the sample group interprets an ambiguous question differently than some of the others, the data received will also be ambiguous. Naturally, market researchers take particular care in avoiding such ambiguities. We too do all we can to prevent this from happening. One of the keys to clear questioning is extensive training.

What kind of training do we provide for our Call Center Assistants?

Our training endeavors to reflect the requirements of our customers: there might be different needs for each and every one. We go strictly by the questionnaire, not offering any kind of explanation to the questions. These, of course, differ in every new agreement, but most of the time we insist that the training of the Call Center staff be carried out by one of the Market Analysis campaign personnel, to be able to transfer the knowledge essential for our colleagues to carry out their calls according to the wishes of our clients.

What questionnaires are we able to handle and what deadlines do we have for programming a questionnaire?

We are able to program a questionnaire of any length; only effectiveness may limit our operations. There have been examples of questionnaires that lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes containing hundreds of questions with side branches. An average, 10-20 minute questionnaire can be programmed in about 2 hours before testing can begin but even the longest questionnaires are available within 24-48 hours for launch.

What does a branch mean in a questionnaire?

When we progress with our questions depending on the answer we get from the interviewee and sometimes omit questions, or question groups, this process is called branching. As an example: if the subject does not own a car, we do not ask which gas station he uses regularly.

How can we refer back to an answer given earlier in the interview, or even in a different interview?

This is a very important part of the questionnaire. We can gather additional information about the subject in a questionnaire where the initial purpose of the questions is of a different nature. For example: “You mentioned earlier that once a month you do the shopping in a different place.”

What is a quota?

During a marketing research campaign, the research company establishes what percentage of consumers with particular characteristics shall be included in the sample, and they evaluate and compare the results using weighing. Primary characteristics could be: sex, age group, place of residence, education. This is also an essential part of the research: we can imagine what would happen if, for example, all interviewees were men living in Budapest with a masters degree and we were interested in how often they use gardening tools. The setting of the quota is particularly a marketing researcher’s task. If you need assistance in this, we would be happy to refer you to one of our marketing research partners.  Our responsibility is to accurately fill the quota according to your demands.

How do we supervise quotas?

The quota system (number of interviewees according to answers fulfilling or not fulfilling certain criteria) requested by our client is uploaded into our system. The data is analyzed online and if, for example, we reach 35 males with high-school education that live in a large city, then next time we check this category, the questionnaire is terminated if the quota is already full.

We have an unlimited number of category choices, like: sex, age, place of residence, education, or other freely configurable categories, or any combination of these. Our system, developed using our experience of many years, can handle the most complicated quotas. This way, we can reach particular samples for example the group of females living in Budapest who are between 32-42 years of age, divorced, do the shopping twice a week, are taller than 180cm, have a master’s degree and eat yoghurt every day.

What kind of database do we have?

We set our database according to all rules and regulations currently in force in Hungary. In the case of individuals, we use public address and phone records, which can only be filtered by geographic location. In the case of companies, naturally, there are much more variables we can use. These can include: annual income, place of office, place of operations, capital, annual balance, number of employees. The number of variables is close to 100.

We also provide Telesales, 7/24 Customer Service and automatized outbound calls.
